Fountain Hall Bed & Breakfast is within walking distance to historic downtown Culpeper with its many unique restaurants and shops, the Visitors Center and the Museum of Culpeper History. It is only a short drive to most of the other attractions.

Historic Downtown Culpeper Take a self-guided tour through downtown Culpeper - designated as one of the Top Ten Best Small Towns in America - and discover the array of antiques, gift and specialty shops, fabulous restaurants, cozy coffee shops and a gourmet wine store. Explore a variety of historic architecture in the downtown and surrounding neighborhoods.

 
While exploring downtown Culpeper, make sure you visit the Visitors Center located in the newly renovated Depot. The Depot was the site of the Battle of Culpeper Court House during the Civil War.  Visitors and locals alike can obtain an array of information on Culpeper, the surrounding area and the state of Virginia. Museum of Culpeper History The Museum of Culpeper History is an excellent way to start your adventure in Culpeper. This state-of-the-art museum offers exhibits regarding Culpeper's rich Revolutionary and Civil War history, displays of dinosaur tracks discovered in a local quarry, American Indian artifacts and much more.

 
Culpeper's central location in Northern-Virigina made it a highly prized location for both armies during the Civil War. You can take a drive and explore the battlefields of Brandy Station, Kelly's Ford and Cedar Mountain. Virginia is “horse country” and what better way to experience the sights and sounds of horse shows at Commonwealth Park than with staying at Fountain Hall. Commonwealth Park is home to Horse Shows In The Sun, HITS – a summer series of six horse shows featuring hunter, jumper and equitation competitions. Monticello Fountain Hall is the ideal starting point to visit Virginia's major tourist attractions. It is just an hour drive north to Washington DC, where the White House, the Capitol and numerous museums await you. Also, several homes of America's most famous presidents can be visited on a day trip, like Mount Vernon, Monticello and Montpelier.
